krense@renselaw.com Mr. Rense is a
solo practitioner engaged in the representation of federal
court and state court-appointed receivers, representation of
bankruptcy trustees and, more generally, in the practice of
financial and insolvency law.
Mr. Rense has been a partner with two regional law firms
that specialized in commercial and financial law, and was
formerly an officer with the Enforcement Division of the
United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission,
specializing in the prevention of and policing of
commodities fraud.
He has represented nearly a dozen bankruptcy trustees in
matters pending in the United States Bankruptcy Courts for
the Central District of California. He has represented
receivers appointed by California Superior Courts in Los
Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Ventura counties, and
receivers appointed by the United States District Court,
Central District of California.
He has represented numerous financial institutions and
private parties in litigation before California Superior
Courts, Federal Bankruptcy Courts and Federal District
Courts, with an emphasis on insolvency and commercial law.
Mr. Rense has appeared as a lecturer and/or panelist on
programs dealing with aspects of insolvency, receivership
and real property law presented by the California Receivers
Forum, the Orange County Bankruptcy Forum, the Orange County
Bar Association (Real Property and Commercial Law Sections)
and Robert Morris Associates, among other organizations.
Mr. Rense also formerly served as corporate counsel for a
Southern California mortgage company and provides legal
services regarding the licensing of lenders and the
statutory schemes enacted by regulators of the various
states governing the making and marketing of loans secured
by residential property trust deeds and mortgages throughout
the United States.
Mr. Rense was graduated from the University of Southern
California Law Center, receiving a Juris Doctor degree in
1980. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism
from California State University at Los Angeles, awarded in
1970. |
